Oaks Cairns Hotel is seeking a skilled Cook for a part-time role in Cairns. You will prepare, cook and plate meals to a high standard, ensuring excellent presentation and adherence to safety standards.

The role involves rotating shifts across Monday to Sunday and a minimum of 20 hours per week with potential for additional hours. Candidates should have at least 12 months of kitchen experience, a passion for cooking, strong teamwork and flexible availability including weekends and public

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist with the cooking and plating of meals.
• Cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain proper food storage, safety, and hygiene standards.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with WHS requirements.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
