Oaks Cairns Hotel is seeking a passionate Cook for Breakfast shifts on a part-time basis to join our kitchen team. You will help deliver a high-quality breakfast buffet, manage opening prep, and ensure food safety and presentation for a great guest experience.

The role requires at least 12 months kitchen experience, strong teamwork, good communication, and flexibility with weekend shifts. Hourly rates range from $27.08 to $40.62, with weekend premiums and WHS-compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver a high-quality breakfast buffet service.
• Handle opening preparation and station setup.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards.
• Ensure excellent presentation of meals before service.
• Maintain strong communication between Front and Back of House.
• Support team members to ensure smooth daily kitchen operations.
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
