Job summary

Betts Transport is a growing business, with an expanding customer base and increasing demand for our services. We're looking for a confident Allocator/Operations Supervisor to help us build on that growth: someone who can coordinate daily allocations, work autonomously, support our drivers, resolve customer issues, and keep operations running smoothly as we continue to scale. Based at our Tomago yard, you'll play a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where safety, efficiency, and great service come first.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate and schedule daily loads, matching the right trucks and drivers to jobs to ensure timely and efficient deliveries, all within compliance requirements
• Supervise daily dispatch, routing, and tracking of trucks
• Communicate job details clearly and promptly to drivers
• Resolve customer complaints and enquiries with professionalism, escalating when necessary
• Verify pricing accuracy, addressing any discrepancies promptly
• Provide training and support to drivers and operations staff on compliance and safety protocols
• Monitor and enforce compliance with transport laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations
• Oversee NHVAS compliance in Mass and Fatigue, including scheduling to ensure drivers meet rest requirements
• Maintain accurate records for fleet maintenance, driver logs, incident reports, and audits
• Promote and enforce a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Assist with recruitment and onboarding of new drivers
• Act as the main point of contact for driver paperwork and records, including PODs, connotes, and compliance documentation, ensuring everything is accurate and filed on time.

About you

• Proven experience in transport allocation, dispatch, or operations, ideally with exposure to compliance
• Strong understanding of NHVAS and fatigue management standards
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple moving parts at once
• Strong problem-solving ability and customer service focus
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), transport management systems (TMS), and compliance software
