We are seeking an experienced Fleet Scheduler / Allocator to join our Day Shift Operations Team. This is an opportunity for a transport professional who enjoys making decisions, solving problems and keeping a busy fleet productive throughout the day.
You will plan, allocate and continually adjust truck movements to meet customer requirements and maximise fleet utilisation, while delivering exceptional customer service.
Our operation requires dynamic allocation and triangulation - linking successive loads between locations to reduce empty kilometres, minimise downtime and improve truck productivity. You will assess the next opportunity for each truck while responding to changing orders, delays and vehicle availability.
Working closely with drivers, customers and the Operations Team, you will balance efficient scheduling with safe operations and reliable customer service.
Schedule, allocate and dispatch trucks to meet customer delivery requirements and operational deadlines.
Use triangulation and effective load sequencing to maximise loaded kilometres and minimise empty running.
Monitor fleet movements and make real‑time adjustments to maximise service performance.
Maintain clear communication with drivers, providing timely instructions and support throughout the shift.
Build strong working relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
Resolve daily operational issues, including delays, disrupted schedules and competing delivery priorities.
Maximise fleet utilisation and productivity while maintaining safety and service standards.
Apply Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and workplace safety requirements to scheduling and allocation decisions.
Maintain accurate allocation records, transport documentation and operational reports.
Use Excel and operational data to monitor performance, identify trends and recommend improvements.
Work closely with the Operations Team to ensure clear handovers and continuity between shifts.
Contribute to operational KPIs and customer service targets.
To be successful, you will bring:
Previous experience in transport operations, fleet allocation, transport scheduling, dispatch or logistics coordination.
The ability to plan successive truck movements and adapt allocations throughout the day.
Strong geographical awareness and an understanding of travel times, loading and unloading requirements, and vehicle configurations.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Strong communication skills and confidence working with drivers, customers and operational teams.
Sound judgement and practical problem‑solving skills in a fast‑paced environment.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including analysing operational data, preparing reports and identifying trends.
Strong computer literacy and experience with transport management systems and Microsoft Office.
A sound understanding of Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management and transport industry compliance requirements.
High attention to detail, a collaborative approach and a commitment to team performance.
Experience in bulk haulage, quarry products or construction‑materials transport will be highly regarded.
