Job summary

Roller Truck is seeking a Transport Allocator in Botany, NSW to oversee the allocation and dispatch of a fleet, ensuring timely deliveries for clients. The role requires coordinating with drivers and clients, monitoring real-time progress, and maintaining delivery records.

The successful candidate will have transport/logistics experience, strong communication, and the ability to multitask under pressure. A current driving licence is required; forklift and heavy vehicle licences are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in a transport or logistics role preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with clients, drivers and team members.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities; able to multitask under pressure.
• Proficient in using transport management and GPS tracking systems.
• Flexible and adaptable; available to work shifts as required.
• Valid driver’s licence; forklift and heavy vehicle licences advantageous.
• Current Heavy Vehicle Licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and allocate delivery jobs to fleet drivers considering vehicle availability and timelines.
• Liaise with clients to understand delivery requirements and priorities.
• Monitor delivery progress in real-time and adjust allocations to optimise efficiency.
• Communicate with drivers providing updates and instructions and address issues.

Job description

Transport company is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Allocator to join our dynamic team in Botany, NSW. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient allocation and dispatch of our fleet of vehicles to ensure timely delivery of goods to our valued clients.

What you'll be doing

• Schedule and allocate delivery jobs to our fleet of drivers, taking into account factors such as vehicle availability, driver skills, and delivery timelines
• Liaise closely with clients to understand their delivery requirements and priorities
• Monitor the progress of deliveries in real-time and make adjustments as needed to optimise efficiency
• Communicate with drivers to provide updates, instructions, and address any issues that arise
• Maintain comprehensive records of all delivery activities and prepare reports as required
• Collaborate with the wider operations team to identify and implement process improvements

What we’re looking for

• Experience in a transport or logistics role, with a strong understanding of road transport operations is preferred but not mandatory
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, drivers, and team members
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Proficient in using transport management and GPS tracking systems
• A flexible and adaptable approach, with the willingness to work shifts as required
• A valid driver’s licence and the ability to obtain a forklift licence would be highly advantageous
• Current Heavy Vehicle License would be advantageous
