CQ Eye in Rockhampton region is seeking an experienced Office Manager to lead the administration team across a specialist ophthalmology practice. You will manage reception, staff, and patient administration while remaining actively involved in daily duties to ensure smooth operations.
You will coordinate with the Business Manager and clinicians, drive process improvements, and uphold high service standards for patients in a busy clinical environment.
Are you an experienced administration professional who enjoys leading a team, creating an organised and efficient workplace, and still being actively involved in the day-to-day running of a busy practice?
CQ Eye is seeking an experienced and motivated Office Manager to join our Rockhampton practice and become an integral member of our management team.
This is a varied, hands‑on position combining team leadership, medical reception, patient administration and broader practice management responsibilities. You will oversee the day‑to‑day operation of our reception and administration team while working closely with our Business Manager, other head staff and doctors to ensure the practice continues to operate efficiently, whilst providing a high standard of service to our patients.
As Office Manager, you will take responsibility for the smooth and effective running of reception and administration, including staff management, appointment book management, and training, as well as assisting with patient enquiries and concerns.
Importantly, this is not a desk‑only management role. You will remain an active member of the reception team and be willing to step in wherever required. This will include patient reception, telephone enquiries, appointment and surgery bookings, and general administration.
The role also provides exposure to the broader operation of the practice. As required, you may assist with areas such as workplace health and safety, building and equipment maintenance, IT liaison, practice advertising, coordination with hospitals and anaesthetists, and implementation of practice and administrative changes.
We are looking for someone who is professional, organised, dependable and confident leading others, while also being approachable and willing to work alongside the team.
Experience within a medical environment would be highly regarded, but not essential.
This is an opportunity to take on a key leadership position within an established specialist ophthalmology practice, with a role that offers genuine variety and involvement across the day‑to‑day operation of the business.
For the right person, it offers the opportunity to become an important and trusted member of the practice management team, working closely with both clinical and administrative staff and contributing directly to the experience we provide our patients.
If you are an experienced administrator or office manager looking for a role where you can lead, organise, problem solve and make a meaningful contribution to the running of the practice, we would be pleased to hear from you.
