Job description

Job Title: Office Manager - Construction

Work Type: Full-Time, On-Site

About the Role

We are a growing Melbourne-based construction builder seeking a proactive, highly organised Office Manager to keep our CBD headquarters running smoothly.

In this pivotal role, you will act as the backbone of our business operations, bridging the gap between site managers, subcontractors, senior management, and external stakeholders. You will manage office administration, oversee basic financial processing, coordinate project documentation, and ensure our corporate environment remains structured, efficient, and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities

Office Administration: Manage day-to-day front-of-house operations, facilities maintenance, supplier contracts, office supply procurement, and mail/deliveries.

Construction & Project Admin: Assist site teams with permit applications, subcontractor onboarding paperwork, site access passes, and maintenance of project registers.

Document & Quality Control: Maintain centralized filing systems, register site documents, manage insurance/licensing compliance registers, and assist with tender preparation documents.

Executive & Team Support: Provide administrative support to the Managing Director and Project Directors, including travel coordination, calendar management, and meeting setup.

Culture & WHS: Coordinate team events, support HR onboarding for new employees, and enforce office safety and compliance policies.

Key Requirements

Proven Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of hands‑on experience as an Office Manager (experience specifically within the construction, engineering, or trades sector is strongly preferred).

Organised & Resilient: Exceptional time‑management skills with the ability to handle shifting priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Clear Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable dealing with everyone from site labourers to corporate clients.

Melbourne CBD Access: Able to work full‑time on‑site at our CBD office.

What We Offer

Competitive Salary: Attractive remuneration package dependent on skills and experience.

CBD Location: Centrally located office close to major train stations and tram lines.

Dynamic Culture: Join a down‑to‑earth, supportive team that values hard work and celebrates success.

Career Growth: Opportunities to take on broader operational responsibility as the business expands.

At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all. We actively encourage applications from any background.
