Job summary

Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns invites applications for an experienced Night Auditor to join our Front Office team. This role oversees all Front Desk activities, supports the Night Supervisor, handles shift handovers, and ensures the Night Audit is completed accurately.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel front office operations.
• Ability to manage shift handovers and maintain accurate records.
• Fidelio PMS experience preferred.
• Strong guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all Front Desk activities and support the Night Supervisor.
• Discuss shift handover with outgoing GSR and note potential issues.
• Read the Reception Diary and record follow-up items for AM/PM.
• Monitor arrivals, departures and rooms available to sell; review next morning reservations.
• Ensure Traces are actioned or rolled forward to the next day.
• Update Registration Cards and Fidelio Profiles to Shangri-La standards.
• Work with Night Supervisor to ensure compliance with hotel policies.
• Attend to guest needs during the night shift and ensure Night Audit is completed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by Night Supervisor or Front Office Manager.

At Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns, we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Night Auditor to join our Front Office team.

The Hotel

Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide.

The Role

• Is responsible for all activities at the Front Desk, as well as other hotel activities relating to the effective and efficient operation of the hotel, and being supportive to the Night Supervisor.
• At the commencement of the shift, discusses with the outgoing GSR on current and or possible problems that may be encountered during the shift, and completes a shift handover.
• Ensure that the Reception Diary is read, and records any information during the shift that needs to be followed up by the AM/PM shift.
• Is aware on the commencement of the shift of any departures and arrivals, and the vacant rooms available to sell. Also the (HNC) reservations for the following morning, plus any other early arrivals or early departures.
• Ensures that all Traces are actioned, or rolled onto the next day if they cannot be resolved.
• All Registration Cards for Check-Ins must be updated, with Profiles in Fidelio to the Shangri-La standard, prior to ending the night shift.
• Works with the Night Supervisor and ensures that hotel policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Attends to guest needs during the course of the night shift.
• Ensure that the Night Audit process is carried out successfully.
• Assumes other duties as assigned by the Night Supervisor and /or Front Office Manager.
