Job summary

Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns, a luxury five‑star hotel, seeks a Group Reservations Agent to join our Sales and Marketing team. You will coordinate all group bookings and work closely with the Revenue Manager to ensure accurate rooming lists and deposit schedules.

The role requires exemplary communication, data accuracy, and the ability to work under pressure. Previous Reservations/Front Office experience is preferred, with Opera PMS experience advantageous.

Qualifications

• Fast and accurate data entry with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and multitask to meet deadlines.
• Strong telephone technique and communication skills.
• Previous Reservations/Front Office Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee administration for all group bookings.
• Action release backs, follow up deposit schedules, and load rooming lists.
• Manage time and deadlines while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain accurate data entry and records for group reservations.
• Provide exceptional telephone and written communication with clients and guests.
• Collaborate with Revenue Manager and Sales and Marketing team.
• Support front office operations related to group bookings.

At Shangri-La, The Marina, Cairns, we have an excellent opportunity for aGroup Reservations Agentto join our Sales and Marketing team.

You will be working closely with our Revenue Manager and Sales and Marketing Team to coordinate and oversee the administration for all group bookings.

The Hotel

Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns is a luxury five-star hotel located beside Marlin Marina and Trinity Inlet in the heart of Cairns. With 255 guest rooms, 18 function venues and extensive food and beverage facilities, the hotel is part of a leading international company with more than 100 hotels and resorts worldwide.

The Role

• Exemplary written and verbal communication skills
• Undertake all group reservation tasks such as actioning release backs, follow up deposit schedules and loading rooming lists
• Ability to work under pressure and problem solve
• Fast and accurate data entry with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to effectively manage your time and multitask to ensure deadlines and timeframes are met
• Exceptional telephone technique and communication skills
• Previous experience in a Reservations/Front Office Management (preferred)
• Experience using Opera PMS (preferred)
