Job summary

Randstad is seeking an APS6 Support Needs Assessor for a Federal Government program across multiple Queensland sites, including Cairns and other regional locations. The role involves conducting semi-structured assessments with NDIS participants and writing strengths-based reports.

The position supports hybrid work arrangements, requires active registration not necessarily but a verified Australian qualification, and offers structured training with coaching.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Education, or be an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner.
• Experience with support needs assessments or person-centred/strengths-based assessment.
• Skilled in writing defensible, clear reports and in handling sensitive conversations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive support needs assessments via semi-structured interviews with NDIS participants.
• Review files, perform virtual or face-to-face assessments, and write high-quality reports.
• Focus on assessment and reporting; no decisions on funding or budgets.
