Job summary

You will manage reservations, front desk, housekeeping and maintenance while recruiting, training and supervising staff. The role includes rostering, budgeting support, guest relations, cost control and profitability initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Hospitality or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant motel/hospitality management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day motel operations and ensure high guest service standards.
• Manage reservations, arrivals/departures, billing and front office tasks.
• Recruit, train and supervise staff across reception, housekeeping and maintenance.
• Prepare rosters, monitor performance and foster a productive workplace.
• Handle guest enquiries, concerns and complaints professionally.
• Monitor income, expenses and occupancy; assist with budgets and reports.
• Review profitability and control operating costs.
• Organise purchasing and stock for daily operations.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance to keep the property safe and well-kept.
• Inspect rooms and common areas to maintain cleanliness and presentation.
• Ensure WHS compliance and other regulatory obligations.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with authorities as needed.
• Oversee events and banquet planning and execution.
• Support marketing and promotions to increase bookings.

Tasks required include:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the motel and ensure guests receive a high standard of service.
• Manage reservations, guest arrivals and departures, billing and other front office activities.
• Recruit, train and supervise employees across different operational areas, including reception, housekeeping and maintenance.
• Prepare staff rosters, monitor employee performance and support the development of a productive and cooperative workplace.
• Deal with guest enquiries, concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
• Monitor business income, expenses and occupancy levels and assist with preparing operational budgets and financial reports.
• Review the financial performance of the business and identify practical ways to improve profitability and control operating costs.
• Organise the purchase of goods and supplies and ensure sufficient stock is available for daily business operations.
• Coordinate repairs, maintenance and general improvement work to ensure the property remains safe and well maintained.
• Carry out regular inspections of rooms and common areas to maintain cleanliness, presentation and service standards.
• Ensure the business complies with workplace health and safety requirements and other relevant legal and regulatory obligations.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and coordinate with external authorities or service providers when required.
• Oversee the planning and operation of functions, meetings, events and banquet services held at the property.
• Support marketing and promotional activities to increase bookings, attract new guests and encourage repeat business
