About the role

We are seeking an experienced Motel Manager to join Redhill Hospitality in Rockhampton, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations and success of our motel facility. As Motel Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of motel operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, managing staff performance, and driving profitability. This position is integral to maintaining our reputation for excellence and achieving our business objectives in the competitive hospitality market.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all daily motel operations, including front desk services, housekeeping, maintenance and guest relations
• Manage staff recruitment, training, scheduling and performance management to ensure a motivated and efficient team
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, maintenance and presentation throughout the facility
• Handle guest complaints and concerns professionally, ensuring swift resolution and guest satisfaction
• Monitor financial performance, manage budgets and control operational costs to maximise profitability
• Implement and maintain health, safety and security protocols across the premises
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase occupancy rates and revenue
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure quality services and competitive pricing
• Prepare regular reports on operational performance, guest feedback and financial metrics
• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Motel Manager or similar hospitality management role, ideally within a 3+ star establishment
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Excellent customer service skills with a proven ability to handle difficult situations professionally
• Sound financial acumen including budgeting, cash flow management and P&L responsibility
• Proficiency in motel management systems and standard computer applications
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements relevant to hospitality operations
• Relevant hospitality qualifications or certifications are desirable
