Job summary

The Dirran Pub in Dirranbandi, Queensland, is seeking a reliable Motel Manager to run the motel side of their established outback hotel/motel. This hands-on role suits someone who values practical hospitality and regional living, taking pride in high standards and guest experience.

You will manage bookings, guest check-ins, oversee housekeeping, and ensure rooms are kept to a high standard while collaborating with pub management.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, practical, and friendly Motel Manager to run the motel side of our well-established outback hotel/motel. This is a hands‑on role ideal for someone who enjoys regional living, takes pride in their work, and values good old-fashioned hospitality.

The Role

You will be responsible for the smooth day-to-day operation of the motel, working closely with pub management/owners. This is not a desk-only role ? you?ll be involved in everything from guest check-ins to overseeing housekeeping and ensuring rooms are kept to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing motel bookings, phone enquiries, check-ins and check-outs
• Overseeing and assisting with housekeeping and laundry
• Maintaining cleanliness, presentation, and basic maintenance reporting
• Providing warm, welcoming customer service to travellers and locals
• Handling guest concerns calmly and professionally
• Cash handling, banking, and basic admin
• Assisting the pub team when required during busy periods
• Being on call for after-hours guest needs

About You

• Experience in motel, hotel, or hospitality management (or strong all-round hospitality background)
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the role
• Practical, organised, and adaptable
• Friendly, approachable, and community-minded
• Happy to live and work in a regional/outback location
• RSA (or willingness to obtain)
