• Current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain).

Job description

A Medical Receptionist position in a friendly, accredited general practice in the Bendigo area. Full-time or part-time hours are available, Monday to Friday, business hours with no weekends. On-the-job training is provided, with real opportunities to learn and grow your career. Start date: November 2026.

Key responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and look after the front desk in a busy GP clinic

Answer phone calls and book appointments, including online bookings

Process Medicare, private and third-party billing (WorkCover, TAC, DVA) and take payments via EFTPOS

Manage referrals, faxes, secure messages and correspondence

Help patients with forms, recalls and reminders

Keep patient records accurate, private and confidential

Support the doctors, nurse and reception team to keep the day running smoothly

About you

At least 1 year of administration experience (medical reception experience highly regarded)

A professional, polite and friendly manner, both in person and on the phone

Strong attention to detail

Honest, reliable and punctual

Able to multitask and stay calm in a busy environment

Good computer skills (experience with Best Practice / Bp Premier is a bonus - we will train you)

Knowledge of Medicare billing and payments, or keen to learn

Eager to learn and grow with us in a long-term role

Must live in Bendigo or the surrounding area

A current Police Check and Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
