ROSSCO'S BAR AND GRILL PTY LTD – Banyo QLD is seeking an experienced Maître D / Shift Supervisor to lead front-of-house operations. This hands-on role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences, managing reservations and seating, and coordinating staff across busy shifts.

We value strong customer service, clear communication, and calm leadership under pressure. RSA or hospitality qualifications are desirable. Flexible evenings and weekends are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a restaurant, café, bar or hospitality supervisory role.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Confident leading and supporting a team.
• Able to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests and provide a friendly, professional first impression
• Manage guest seating, reservations and table allocation
• Coordinate front-of-house operations throughout each shift
• Supervise and support waitstaff and other front-of-house team members
• Allocate duties and ensure the team is prepared for service
• Monitor service standards and ensure customers receive excellent service
• Assist with resolving customer concerns or complaints professionally
• Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
• Monitor the flow of service and assist the team during busy periods
• Open and/or close the venue as required
• Ensure workplace, food safety and company procedures are followed
• Support staff training and provide guidance to team members
• Assist with cash handling, end-of-shift procedures and general venue duties
• Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming front-of-house environment
