BGH Commercial is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join our team on a full-time basis with an immediate start. This position is based in Cairns, QLD and offers the opportunity to work with modern plant and machinery in a fast-paced construction environment. As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient operation of specialised equipment, directly contributing to the successful completion of our projects and maintaining our reputation for quality workmanship and safety excellence.

Key responsibilities

Operate a range of plant and machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety guidelines

Conduct pre-operation inspections and maintenance checks to ensure equipment is in optimal working condition

Follow construction plans, drawings and instructions to position machinery and materials accurately

Monitor equipment performance during operation and identify any mechanical issues or faults

Maintain accurate records of equipment hours, fuel consumption and maintenance activities

Communicate effectively with site supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth operations

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, site policies and industry best practices

Report any accidents, incidents or hazards to management immediately

Contribute to a positive workplace culture through teamwork and professional conduct
