Bauen Civil Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Civil Machine Operator for a large-scale subdivision project in the Toowoomba region. The role involves operating excavators, graders, rollers and loaders, using GPS/machine control to achieve design lines, and mentoring junior operators.

You’ll report to the Site Manager on a 12-month program starting September 2026. We require 5+ years of relevant experience, HR/HC tickets (advantageous), a White Card and a valid Driver’s License, with a strong WHS

Job description

You'll be based on a large-scale civil subdivision project in the Toowoomba region, mobilising from September 2026 as part of a 12-month program involving earthworks, roads, drainage and services installation. Reporting to the Site Manager, you'll operate a range of civil construction machinery to construct the project to design line, level and grade, while providing guidance and support to junior operators on site.

Key responsibilities

• Operate civil construction plant (e.g. excavator, grader, roller, loader)
• Use machine guidance/GPS/3D machine control software to construct works to design line, level and grade
• Pre-start checks and reporting faults promptly
• Work with the Site Manager and crew to sequence plant activities and keep works to program
• Follow WHS and environmental requirements
• Contribute to Bauen positive team culture

About you

• 5+ years' experience as a Civil Machine Operator
• Experience across a range of plant (excavator, grader, roller, loader)
• Confidence using machine guidance/GPS/3D machine control systems
• Relevant plant tickets and competencies (HR and HC advantageous)
• Current White Card and Driver's License
• Sound understanding of WHS requirements on civil construction sites
• Willingness to mentor and support junior operators
• Responsible and trustworthy — reliable, punctual, and gets the job done

Full-time salary with great pay and benefits: $120k–$135k + Super + Ute + Fuel
