Job summary

BMD is seeking experienced Machine Operators for civil and urban development projects in North Queensland. You will operate plant safely, support project delivery, and maintain equipment while meeting project schedules.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of operating experience, valid operator tickets, a current Driver's Licence, and a Construction White Card, with a strong safety mindset and teamwork ethos.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ machine operating experience.
• Hold relevant machine operator tickets and licences.
• Current Driver's Licence and Construction White Card.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance commitment.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic; team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Support civil construction and urban development delivery.
• Complete works per project specs and schedules.
• Maintain equipment and perform pre-start inspections.
• Collaborate with site teams and supervisors.
• Adhere to safety, environmental and quality requirements.

The Opportunity

With a strong pipeline of work across North Queensland, we're seeking experienced Machine Operators to join our high-performing project teams.

Current opportunities include:

• Backhoe Operators
• Bobcat Operators
• Mini Excavator Operators (5 Tonne)

Working across urban development and civil infrastructure projects, you'll play a vital role in delivering quality outcomes while maintaining a strong focus on safety, productivity and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate plant and machinery safely and efficiently
• Support civil construction and urban development project delivery
• Complete works in line with project specifications and schedules
• Maintain equipment and conduct pre-start inspections
• Work collaboratively with site teams and supervisors
• Adhere to all safety, environmental and quality requirements

About You

We're looking for operators who have:

• Minimum 5 years' machine operating experience
• Relevant machine operator tickets and licences
• Current Driver's Licence
• Construction White Card

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• The ability to work effectively within a team environment

Highly regarded:

• Previous experience on civil construction projects
• Experience working on urban development and infrastructure projects
