Optiver is offering a Software Developer Intern position in Sydney. You will join a world-class training program and work on ultra-low latency exchange protocol encoders/decoders, collaborating with traders and engineers to build fast, reliable solutions.

During the 10-week internship, you’ll gain hands-on experience, experience a tight feedback loop, and potentially receive an offer to return as a Graduate Software Developer.

Qualifications

• Penultimate university student in Computer Science or Engineering
• Australian New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or eligible to work in Australia
• Studying a technical degree and able to contribute to latency-sensitive projects
• Strong problem-solving skills with an interest in high-performance systems
• Experience or projects demonstrating OO design and software development in C++, Java or Python

Responsibilities

• Develop latency-critical software in a fast-moving trading environment
• Collaborate with traders and engineers to design robust solutions
• Participate in a structured training program and mentorship
• Deliver high-quality code with fast feedback loops and production exposure
