RMIT University in Melbourne is hiring a Library Concierge to deliver a high level of customer service at library service points and assist with physical collection maintenance. The role may involve working across library sites and on projects, with duties including opening and closing spaces.

Successful candidates will have strong customer service skills, be able to work in a team, and may have experience with safe manual handling and Dewey Decimal classification. Training will be provided.

Formación

• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
• Effective verbal communication and rapport building.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience or understanding of safe manual handling in libraries (desirable).
• Knowledge or understanding of Dewey Decimal classification (desirable).

Responsabilidades

• Provide concierge services to Library users such as responding to directional queries, orientation and services, referrals to other Library Services
• Provide ad hoc assistance or referral service to Library users while within public collections spaces
• Customers have timely and efficient access to well-maintained physical collections of the Library
• Contribute to shelving and retrieval of collections materials including returns and holds
• Perform group or team Collection maintenance projects and tasks as directed by the Senior Officers
• Collect and process items from Pick lists as directed, straightforward data entry.
