Job summary

Calvary Mt Carmel Retirement Community in Maitland seeks a Leisur e & Lifestyle Officer to design, develop and implement engaging programs for residents. You will deliver activities that support autonomy and independence, creating a fun and relaxing environment for those in care.

The role focuses on enhancing quality of life at Calvary Mt Carmel, which supports up to 41 residents and operates within a mission-based organisation. Strong communication and documentation skills are required.

Qualifications

• Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or other relevant qualification (Essential).
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Experience planning and evaluating activities for frail people with cognitive impairment and disabilities.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes.
• Sensitivity to residents' needs and interests.
• Current NSW Drivers Licence.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement special programs to meet residents' needs and enhance quality of life.
• Conduct programs to support autonomy and independence in residents.
• Create a fun and relaxing environment while care is provided.
