Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) Campbell, ACT is seeking a Casual Lifestyle Officer to deliver personalised leisure programs for our residents. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate activities, including one-to-one and group sessions, to support independence and quality of life.

You will work with the Lifestyle Coordinator to design and facilitate engaging programs, complete documentation, and help residents stay active and connected in the community.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or equivalent OR experience in working within Leisure and Lifestyle service provision.
• Passion for delivering high quality care that makes a difference for our residents
• Experience in leisure and lifestyle service provision
• Relevant experience in aged care (desirable)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to undertake leisure-based assessments and care planning with individual residents
• Ability to work independently with good time management skills
• Demonstrated understanding of the relevant Laws, Acts, Regulations, Charters and Codes of Practice

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised leisure programs for residents
• Deliver one-to-one activities, group activities and events as directed by the Lifestyle Coordinator
• Support residents to maintain independence and community participation
• Complete assessments and documentation related to leisure and lifestyle
• Monitor and review program effectiveness and suggest improvements
• Facilitate outings and coordinate associated documentation
• Seek resident feedback to guide quality improvements
• Support accreditation and work as part of the Leisure and Lifestyle team
