Calvary Mt Carmel Retirement Community in Maitland, NSW, is seeking a Leisure and Activities Officer on a part-time basis (Mon–Wed). You will design, develop and run programs to meet residents' needs, promoting quality of life and enjoyment while in care.

• Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or equivalent required.
• Current First Aid certificate.
• Experience planning and evaluating activities for frail people with cognitive impairment.
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes.
• Strong communication skills and a NSW driver’s licence.

About the role

As part of the Leisure and Lifestyle team you will ensure the design, development and implementation of special programs to meet the needs of residents, helping to provide quality of life and enjoyment whilst in care.

As Leisure and Lifestyle Officer you will conduct programs to support the autonomy and independence of each resident, by creating a fun and relaxing environment.

Calvary Mt Carmel provides quality care for up to 41 residents.

What you bring

• Leisure & Lifestyle Certificate Level IV or other relevant qualification (Essential)
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Experience in the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities for frail people with cognitive impairment and disabilities
• Ability to document assessments, care plans and progress notes
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs and interests of residents
• Strong communication skills
• Current NSW Drivers Licence
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
