Job summary

Government schools is seeking Learning Specialists who will spend the majority of time in the classroom delivering high-quality teaching and learning. They will mentor and coach teachers, provide demonstration lessons and lead school-based professional learning to improve achievement and wellbeing.

Leaders will model excellence, use data to inform practice, and collaborate with staff, students, families and the wider school community.

Qualifications

• Eligible for provisional or full registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
• Experience in curriculum areas and teaching literacy/numeracy.
• Ability to use student data to inform practice and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating high-level teaching and learning practice.
• Modeling exemplary classroom practice including teaching demonstration lessons.
• Lead curriculum planning and whole-school improvement strategies.
• Provide professional learning and feedback to teachers and feedback to students/parents.
• Mentor and supervise student teachers and coach teachers.
• Use student data to inform teaching approaches and drive improvements.
