Job summary

Gleneagles Secondary College is seeking Learning Specialists who will continue to spend most of their time in the classroom while delivering high‑quality teaching and learning and mentoring teachers through demonstration lessons.

You will model excellence, observe practice, provide feedback to colleagues and lead school‑wide professional learning to raise achievement, engagement and wellbeing for students.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to model exemplary teaching practice.
• Evidence of high impact teaching strategies that respond to student learning needs.
• Ability to model monitoring and assessment of student learning using data.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrating high-level expertise in teaching and learning practice.
• Modelling exemplary classroom practice including through teaching demonstration lessons.
• Working with the school leadership team to develop a shared view of highly effective teacher practice.
• Leading and modelling the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to curriculum planning and delivery.
• Providing evidence-based feedback to teaching staff to inform their effectiveness and development.
• Providing expert advice about professional learning and context for school improvement.
• Supervising and mentoring student teachers and coaching teachers.
• Modelling use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Developing school-wide professional learning structures and processes.
• Seeking feedback from others to improve practice through reflective inquiry.
