Victorian Government learning specialists are highly skilled classroom practitioners who spend most of their time in the classroom while delivering high-quality teaching and learning. They mentor teachers, observe lessons, and facilitate school-based professional learning to raise achievement, engagement and wellbeing across the student body.

They work with school leadership to develop effective teaching practice, use data to inform decisions and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in high-quality teaching across the curriculum.
• Ability to model demonstration lessons and mentor teachers.
• Skilled in using student data to inform practice.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level teaching and learning practice.
• Model classroom practice through demonstration lessons.
• Collaborate with school leaders to define effective teacher practices.
