Job summary

ISS Integrated Serv P/L is seeking an experienced Chef to join our fast-paced kitchen operations in Central Queensland mining villages. This role offers a 9 days on / 5 days off roster or 2 weeks on / 1 week off, with reporting to the Head Chef/Village Manager and a focus on delivering high-quality meals in a remote environment.

You will prepare meals, maintain food safety and WHS standards, manage stock, and collaborate on menu execution while mentoring junior staff and upholding our HERO

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years professional chef experience.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery recognised in Australia (or higher).
• Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• FIFO experience in a high-volume kitchen (desirable).
• Strong teamwork and communication; ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and WHS requirements.
• Must pass a full Pre-Employment Medical Assessment and Drug & Alcohol Screen.
• Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Certificate (highly desirable).
• Valid National Police Clearance within the last 12 months.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently.
• Support the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
• Assist with stock management, ordering, and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements.
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
