Job summary

ISS Integrated Serv P/L is seeking an experienced Chef to join our remote mining village kitchens in Central Queensland. The role operates on a 9 days on / 5 days off roster or a 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster, balancing work and life in a demanding environment.

Reporting to the Head Chef/Village Manager, you will prepare nutritious meals, uphold food safety standards, manage stock, and mentor junior staff in a high-volume setting, delivering consistent, high-quality dining experiences for

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years as a qualified chef.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Australia).
• Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• FIFO experience in a high-volume kitchen is desirable.
• Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 are highly desirable.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently.
• Support the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
• Assist with stock management, ordering, and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements.
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
