ISS Facility Services Australia and New Zealand is seeking an experienced Chef to join our mining village kitchens in Central Queensland. The role operates on a 9 days on / 5 days off roster, or 2 weeks on / 1 week off, with reporting to the Head Chef/Village Manager and ensuring high-quality meals for residents in a remote mining environment.

You will work with qualified chefs to deliver nutritious meals, maintain safety standards, and contribute to a positive dining experience on-site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional chef experience.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery recognised in Australia (or higher).
• Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• FIFO experience in a high-volume kitchen (desirable).
• Strong teamwork and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of HACCP and WHS requirements.
• Must pass a full Pre-Employment Medical Assessment and Drug & Alcohol Screen.
• Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 Certificate (highly desirable).
• Valid National Police Clearance within the last 12 months.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently.
• Support the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
• Assist with stock management, ordering, and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements.
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
