Job summary

Clayton North Primary School, part of the Victorian Government education system, seeks a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and teach programs focused on improving student outcomes. The role involves critical reflection, collaboration with staff, and contributing to school policy and priority directions.

The successful candidate will use data to inform instruction, provide feedback on student growth to students and parents, and engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance teaching quality

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of the relevant curriculum and the ability to teach literacy and numeracy and respond to student learning needs.
• Experience in planning high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth.
• Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.
• Demonstrated behaviours consistent with Department values and commitment to professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals and delivery of structured programs.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching related duties as directed by the Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Support school policies and participate in professional learning to sustain quality teaching.
