Job summary

Western Sydney University is seeking a Return to Work Coordinator at the Hawkesbury campus. This full-time, ongoing role operates at HEW 8 level and offers flexible working arrangements.

You will manage workers compensation claims, rehabilitation, and sustainable return-to-work programs across Western Sydney and collaborate with staff, insurers, and health professionals to deliver effective injury management.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in health administration or related field
• SIRA-approved Return to Work Coordinator training (or interstate equivalent)
• Minimum 3 years’ experience managing workers compensation claims and rehabilitation cases
• Extensive knowledge of injury management, workers compensation legislation, WHS and discrimination requirements
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with experience preparing reports and plans

Responsibilities

• Manage workers compensation claims and workplace rehabilitation across Western Sydney
• Coordinate complex return-to-work programs and suitable duties
• Provide expert advice on injury management and legislative obligations
• Turn claims, cost and performance data into practical recommendations
• Maintain governance, policies and records; engage stakeholders and insurers
• Manage a caseload of 40+ open matters and support education initiatives
