Job summary

Mission Australia is seeking an Injury Management & WHS Specialist to coordinate person-centred return-to-work plans and manage workers’ compensation across multiple jurisdictions. You will build trusted relationships with injured staff, managers, HR, insurers and providers while leading WHS initiatives to reduce risk and support meaningful work.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience coordinating injury management/RTW across states or sites.
• Solid knowledge of workers’ compensation and WHS requirements across jurisdictions.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with staff, HR, insurers and providers.

Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact when an injury occurs and lodge claims promptly.
• Set up practical, person-centred return-to-work plans respecting state rules.
• Coordinate with injured staff, managers, HR, insurers and providers to remove barriers.
• Share clear updates and relevant documentation at each step.
• Monitor claims and provide simple reports to leaders for decisions.
• Identify psychosocial hazards and suggest suitable-duties options to speed recovery.
• Support WHS projects and safety initiatives to strengthen culture.
• Complete national police history checks and required clearances before starting.
