Job summary

Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Limited is seeking a Research Coordinator to manage the operational delivery of a large Aboriginal-led precision medicine cohort study across NSW. The role involves coordinating recruitment sites, sample and data logistics, and collaborating with Aboriginal health organisations and governance committees.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate qualification in biological sciences, genetics, health, pathology or a related field
• Demonstrated experience managing clinical research projects, ideally within a primary healthcare setting
• Strong knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, the impacts of colonisation and health inequities, with experience working in partnership with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people, communities and health services considered highly desirable
• Understanding of the Australian primary healthcare landscape and ability to work with diverse health and community stakeholders
• Experience managing budgets, project plans, reporting requirements, service contracts or research agreements
• Ability to communicate with respect and build strong partnerships across geographically diverse teams
• Experience using Microsoft Office and REDCap; Good Clinical Practice accreditation desired
• Willingness to travel within NSW and interstate; genomics or Indigenous Data Sovereignty knowledge valued

Responsibilities

• Build trusting and respectful relationships with Aboriginal Medical Services, communities and project partners
• Coordinate establishment, preparation, monitoring and ongoing support of recruitment sites
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, resources and budgets
• Create study materials, research protocols, SOPs and training resources
• Manage service provider relationships, contracts and research agreements to support delivery
• Coordinate project, ethics, financial and research management reporting
• Identify and manage project risks, barriers, governance requirements
• Support Indigenous Data Sovereignty principles in data and samples management
