A bit about the program and the difference this role will make
The Clinical Advisory Manager for the First Nations Molecular Point of Care (POC) Program will be responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of projects nationally. We work with local communities to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Australia, primarily focused on point-of-care testing for infectious diseases. The program aims to strengthen the scope and reach of point-of-care testing to rural and remote regions in Australia.
The Kirby Institute works in partnership with the International Centre of Point-of-Care testing, Flinders University. This role requires working closely with the Flinders’ team, and entails providing high quality project management across implementation initiatives. This includes the development, implementation and review of work plans, project systems and governance structures in collaboration with project teams and partner organisations, to ensure the efficient and effective implementation, and running of the program, including reporting.
The role of Clinical Advisor reports to Program Head, Surveillance, Evaluation & Research Program (SERP) and whilst the role has no direct reports, they will take a lead role in mentoring and supporting Program staff, including but not limited to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff.
