Job summary

Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute Limited in Darlinghurst, NSW seeks a Research Coordinator to manage a large Aboriginal-led precision medicine cohort study across NSW. You’ll establish recruitment sites, oversee logistics, and build strong partnerships with Aboriginal health services and research teams.

The role requires collaboration with Aboriginal health organisations and governance committees to ensure ethical and effective study delivery, while travelling within NSW as needed.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate qualification in biological sciences, genetics, health, pathology or related field.
• Experience managing clinical research projects, ideally within primary healthcare.
• Knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health inequities and working in partnership with communities.

Responsibilities

• Building trusting and respectful relationships with Aboriginal Medical Services, communities, primary healthcare services and project partners.
• Coordinating establishment, preparation, monitoring and ongoing support of recruitment sites.
• Developing detailed project plans, monitoring timelines, milestones and budgets.
• Creating clear study materials, research protocols and SOPs.
• Managing service provider contracts and research agreements.
• Coordinating ethics, financial and research management reporting.
• Identifying and managing project risks and governance requirements.
• Supporting Indigenous Data Sovereignty in data and samples management.
