Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a skilled Communications Coordinator to support the creation and delivery of communications about our work. The role collaborates with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and create clear, concise and compelling content for diverse audiences.

You'll manage internal and external communications across our website, newsletters, events and social channels, liaising with contractors as needed and contributing to multimedia content development.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism or equivalent.
• Experience in a Communications team, preferably within a not-for-profit or government sector.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Proficiency in content management systems, social media platforms and Monday.com (or similar).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels, including social, digital and newsletters.
• Translate complex technical, policy and workforce content into plain English that suits the target audience.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
• Ensure all content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences, including industry stakeholders and the public.
• Work closely with other teams as directed to align communications across our sectors.
• Assist in the development or commissioning of multimedia content, including videos and graphics, as required.
• Observe and followwork health, safety and wellbeing policies and guidelines.
