Job summary

HumanAbility is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support creation and delivery of communications about our projects. You will work with the Senior Communications Advisor to plan, draft and create clear, concise communications across our channels.

You’ll manage internal and external communications including our website, newsletters, events and social media, liaising with contractors as needed. This role requires collaboration across teams and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in a communications team, preferably within not-for-profit or government sectors.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Ability to translate technical content into plain English for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify, plan and create content for HumanAbility’s communications channels (social, digital, newsletters).
• Translate complex policy and workforce content into plain English for target audiences.
• Draft communication materials with clarity, accuracy and consistency.
• Ensure content is accessible and appropriate for diverse audiences including stakeholders and the public.
• Collaborate with other teams to align communications across sectors.
• Assist in developing multimedia content (videos/graphics) as required.
• Follow work health, safety and wellbeing policies.
