Job summary

Local Kitchen Co is seeking a part-time HR Business Partner to support managers across kitchen operations, retail, logistics and support functions. You’ll provide practical HR advice, help with recruitment, onboarding and performance conversations, and embed HR policies into daily practice.

You’ll work closely with management, ensuring employment conditions and WHS considerations are right sized for our busy operational environment, with regular time at our sites to connect with teams.

Qualifications

• Broad HR generalist experience and ability to work independently.
• Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and Modern Awards.
• Experience supporting managers with employee relations and performance matters.
• Practical understanding of WHS and injury management.
• Good judgement, discretion and the ability to provide clear advice.
• Strong organisational skills and a knack for simplicity and execution.
• Relevant HR qualifications or equivalent experience.

What’s on your plate?

Reporting to the CEO, you’ll be our go-to person for practical HR advice and support. You’ll work closely with managers across kitchen operations, retail, logistics and support functions, helping them build confident, capable teams.

There’s a strong foundation of people policies and tools ready to embed, alongside plenty of opportunity to bring your experience and ideas.

You’ll:

• Help managers navigate everyday people matters, from recognising great performance to having the conversations that can’t wait.
• Support recruitment, contracts, induction and onboarding, giving new starters a warm welcome and a clear start.
• Coach leaders to set expectations, give useful feedback and support their teams.
• Bring our HR policies and processes to life so they become part of how we work.
• Provide guidance on employment conditions, Modern Awards, classifications and pay, drawing on specialist advice when needed.
• Support WHS and injury management activities with managers, keeping actions moving and people informed.
• Keep employee records accurate and help us get the most from Tanda.
• Contribute to workforce planning, learning and development, and a workplace where people feel respected and supported.

What you’ll bring to the table

You’re approachable, grounded and comfortable switching between a sensitive conversation, a manager coaching session and the detail of an employment contract.

You know that good HR starts with understanding the business and the people doing the work.

You’ll bring:

• Relevant HR qualifications or equivalent experience.

Experience in food manufacturing, retail, hospitality or another busy operational environment would be a bonus. Familiarity with Tanda would be handy, too.
