Murdoch Square POCP is seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Duty Manager to oversee day-to-day hotel operations at our Courtyard by Marriott Perth Hotel in Murdoch.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in delivering high service standards and has the confidence to make sound decisions while managing the diverse demands of hotel operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring service quality, brand standards and operational procedures are consistently maintained.


• Act as the senior leader on shift, taking ownership of hotel operations and ensuring smooth coordination across departments.


• Welcome guests and assist with check-in, check-out and departure processes, delivering a friendly, professional and personalised service.


• Respond to guest enquiries, anticipate traveller needs and use your local knowledge to enhance the overall guest experience.


• Manage guest complaints, escalations and service recovery, resolving issues professionally and effectively.


• Lead, coach and support team members, maintaining appropriate staffing levels and ensuring operational and guest service expectations are met.


• Build strong relationships with guests to encourage loyalty, repeat bookings and positive guest feedback.


• Monitor operational performance and understand the impact of departmental decisions on the hotel's financial objectives.


• Collaborate with other departments to achieve guest satisfaction, operational efficiency and business targets.


• Provide support to Food & Beverage operations when required.


• Ensure compliance with hotel procedures, relevant regulations and Marriott service standards.

About You

You are a confident, solutions-focused hospitality professional who leads by example and enjoys creating positive experiences for both guests and team members. You can balance operational priorities, make informed decisions under pressure and inspire your team to deliver consistently high standards.

To be successful in this role, you will have

• A minimum of two years' experience in a Front Office Supervisor, Duty Manager, Assistant Manager or similar hotel operational leadership role.


• Proven hospitality experience, with the ability to independently manage hotel operations and lead a shift.


• A current Approved Manager qualification or certification, as required for the role.


• Demonstrated leadership skills, including coaching, developing and holding team members accountable for performance.


• Experience handling guest complaints, service recovery, conflict resolution and operational incidents.


• A strong understanding of Front Office systems, hotel procedures, compliance requirements and Marriott service standards.


• The ability to coordinate multiple departments while balancing guest satisfaction, operational needs and financial performance.


• Excellent communication, problem-solving, judgement and decision-making skills.


• A flexible approach to work, including availability for a rotating roster covering evenings, weekends and public holidays.

This is full time role working 38 hours per week. An immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $79,610 will be offered to the successful candidate.
