Job summary

Wake Up! Bondi Beach is seeking an energetic Hostel General Manager to take ownership of daily operations and guest experience at Bondi Beach, NSW. This hands-on leadership role places you at the heart of the hostel, ensuring high standards and a welcoming environment.

You’ll lead from the front, drive events and the social atmosphere, manage rosters and training, and work closely with housekeeping and reception to deliver an unbeatable beachfront experience for guests.

The Role – Hands-On Hostel General Manager

We’re looking for an energetic and experienced Hostel General Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation of Wake Up! Bondi Beach.

This is a hands-on, guest-focused leadership role. You’ll be highly visible around the hostel, leading your team, engaging with guests and ensuring high standards across the operation.

A key part of the role is driving our events and social atmosphere — creating memorable experiences that bring guests together and keep them coming back.

Full-time role

What You’ll Bring to the Role

We’re looking for an experienced hospitality leader who is hands-on, guest-focused and commercially minded, with the energy to lead from the front.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Taking ownership of daily operations and the overall guest experience
• Leading, developing and holding the team accountable to high standards
• Being highly visible and hands-on across the hostel and reception operations
• Driving events, activities and the social atmosphere
• Building strong guest relationships and confidently managing service recovery
• Overseeing rosters, staffing, training and performance
• Working closely with housekeeping and reception to maintain excellent standards
• Monitoring guest feedback, reviews, revenue and operational performanceIdentifying opportunities to improve the guest experience and business performance
