Job description

Perfectly positioned on King Street Wharf, moments from Barangaroo, the CBD and ICC Sydney, Adina Hotel Darling Harbour has reopened following a full transformation, a premium waterfront hotel offering guests refreshed accommodation, a prime location and space to stay their own way.

With the doors now open and the introduction of Shoreline Kitchen, the hotel is building real momentum as both a sought-after place to stay and a vibrant local dining destination.

This is a rare opportunity to join early in the hotel's journey and help take a strong reopening into lasting success.

About the role

As Hotel General Manager, you'll take ownership of the hotel's overall performance; leading a high performing team across Rooms, Food & Beverage and Guest Services, and ensuring every guest experience is seamless and memorable.

You'll lead by example, bring calm to complexity, and play a key role in financial planning, strategic direction and building on the strong foundations already in place. A key focus will be establishing Shoreline Kitchen as a true destination venue within Darling Harbour, bringing fresh thinking, commercial acumen and a genuine passion for hospitality to everything you do.

What you'll be doing
  • Driving operations end to end - You'll lead all aspects of hotel operations to deliver outstanding guest experiences and strong commercial performance, hands‑on and present across every department.
  • Building the culture - You'll develop and inspire high performing teams through visible, authentic leadership, fostering accountability, engagement and service excellence at every level.
  • Growing Shoreline Kitchen - You'll drive the continued evolution and market positioning of the venue, supporting creative F&B activations, partnerships and local engagement initiatives that build patronage and profile.
  • Owning the numbers - You'll manage budgets, forecasting, profitability and strategic business planning, identifying opportunities to grow patronage, revenue and market share without compromising quality.
  • Shaping the experience - You'll introduce innovative concepts and product enhancements that elevate the guest journey, embedding the hotel and Shoreline Kitchen within the local community.
  • Holding the standard - From WHS and food safety compliance to brand standards across Rooms and F&B, you'll keep the bar high while building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About you

You're a passionate hospitality leader who understands that great hotels are built on exceptional people, memorable guest experiences and compelling food and beverage offerings. You bring a highly visible, hands‑on leadership style and thrive on turning great venues into destinations.

You'll ideally bring:

  • Current experience as a General Manager or an experienced Hotel Manager within a full‑service hotel environment (114+ keys)
  • Strong Food & Beverage leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to drive venue performance across restaurants, bars and events in premium hospitality environments
  • A track record of supporting activations, enhancing guest experiences and driving product innovation
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing hotel financial performance
  • Outstanding stakeholder management, communication and organisational skills, with a genuine commitment to mentorship and developing engaged teams
  • A solid understanding of WHS, food safety and hotel compliance requirements
  • Full, unrestricted Australian working rights (sponsorship is not available for this position)
Why Join TFE?

At TFE Hotels, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We empower our leaders to make an impact, think differently and bring out the best in their teams.

In return, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead a hotel where your impact will be visible and valued.
  • Enjoy genuine autonomy with the backing of a market‑leading hospitality group.
  • Access long‑term career opportunities across a growing international portfolio.
  • Join a people‑focused culture that celebrates excellence, innovation and individuality.
  • Build something special while working with some of the industry's most passionate professionals.

If you're a passionate hotel leader with a track record of building high‑performing teams, delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving commercial success, we'd love to hear from you.
