Job summary

Silverchain is seeking Home Care Workers in the Bayside area to help older community members stay in their own homes with quality care. Roles are casual with a view to part‑time permanent positions and offer an award rate plus super and paid kilometers, plus training and CPR/First Aid courses.

You will support clients with home help and personal care, including mobility support, meals, and transport to activities, while working closely with families and care teams.

What we're looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Enjoy having variety in their day.
• Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.

• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
