Job summary

Silverchain is looking for Home Care Workers to support aged clients in the Bayside area. Casual roles with a view to permanent part-time work, at an award rate of $41.08 per hour plus Super and paid kilometres.

Benefits include an employee program, salary packaging to $18,550 tax free, and CPR/First Aid courses. You will assist with home-based care, personal care, mobility goals and transport to activities, helping clients live independently at home longer.

Responsibilities

• Provide home help services: housekeeping, bed making, cleaning, laundry and meal preparation.
• Provide personal care: assist with getting clients out of bed, showering and dressing, mobility support.
• Provide transport to activities or appointments and support families needing a break.
• Help clients remain independent at home by delivering compassionate care.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Enjoy having variety in their day.
• Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.

• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
