Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking Home Care Workers in the Bayside area to support our aged care clients at home, delivering personal care, light housekeeping and companion visits with kindness and professionalism. Casual roles with a view to permanent part-time positions, award rate 41.08 per hour plus super and paid kilometres, plus access to paid CPR/First Aid courses and career training.

Qualifications

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.
• Interest in community or aged care, experience preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and seek help when needed.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, bed making, cleaning, laundry, and meal prep.
• Provide personal care and mobility assistance.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Enjoy having variety in their day.
• Can build positive relationships with clients and their families.
• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.

• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
