Job summary

Silverchain Group in Camden, NSW is seeking a Care Worker to help older community members maintain independence and wellbeing. You will provide home help and personal care, including housekeeping, meals, laundry and medication assistance.

The role requires at least 3 months of similar experience and a valid Australian driver's licence with your own insured vehicle. You will work with clients and families, offering emotional support, mobility assistance and transport to activities, while adhering

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months of experience in a similar professional role.

• Experience with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.
• Ability to work independently and build positive relationships with clients and their families.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, making beds, cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry; meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Provide personal care: getting clients out of bed, showering and dressing, assisting with medications.
• Assist with mobility and therapy goals and provide social and emotional support.
• Provide transport to lifestyle activities or appointments and support family carers.

We are looking for a person with at least 3 months experience in a similar professional role, to join the Silverchain team in Camden and surrounding suburbs.

• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications.

The role

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
• Assisting clients to take their medications
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia
• Providing social and emotional support

Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments

Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
