Job summary

Silverchain is seeking Home Care Workers to join our Bayside area teams, delivering in-home aged care with a focus on independence and safety. You’ll provide housekeeping, meal prep, personal care and mobility support to clients in their homes, helping them live independently for longer.

This casual role offers a pathway to permanent part-time work, an award rate of AU$41.08 per hour plus super and paid kilometres, and access to training such as CPR and First Aid courses.

Qualifications

• Valid Australian Driver's Licence & own insured vehicle required
• Interest in community/aged care (experience preferred)

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, making beds, cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping
• Personal care: getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed, assisting with mobility
• Provide complex care for high care needs (e.g., dementia) and social/emotional support
• Transport clients to activities/appointments
• Support family carers by enabling breaks

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.

• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
