Job summary

Silverchain is seeking Home Care Workers in Bayside to support aged clients at home, helping with daily tasks and personal care. You’ll work closely with families to enable independence and well- being in familiar surroundings.

Roles are casual with potential to move to part-time, and staff receive CPR and First Aid training plus access to employee benefits and salary packaging options. Relocation or travel isn’t required, but a valid driver’s licence is essential.

Qualifications

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Provide general housekeeping, bed making, cleaning and laundry.
• Prepare meals and grocery shopping as part of daily home care.
• Assist clients with personal care including mobility, getting in/out of bed, showering and dressing.
• Provide transport to activities or appointments and support family carers.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Enjoy having variety in their day.

• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.

• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
