Job summary

Silverchain in Australia is seeking Home Care Workers to support aged clients at home. You will provide essential housekeeping, personal care, and community transport to help clients stay independent and connected in their own homes.

Role offers casual work with a view to permanent part-time, plus opportunities for accelerated learning programs and professional qualifications, including CPR and First Aid courses. A driver’s licence and own vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured, roadworthy vehicle.
• Interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping, making beds, cleaning floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.
• Providing transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Providing social and emotional support and respite to family carers.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for people who:

• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In addition, you will need:

The role

In the role of Home Care Worker, you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as:

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as:

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day.
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals.

• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia.
• Providing social and emotional support.
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.
