Job summary

Silverchain Group is seeking Home Care Workers to support older Australians in the Springwood region. You will help clients stay independent at home through practical assistance and social engagement.

These casual roles offer an immediate start in the Blue Mountains area, with potential progression to permanent part-time. You will receive award-rate pay, superannuation, and benefits, plus access to training including CPR/First Aid and Cert 3 qualifications.

Qualifications

• Valid Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.
• Interest in community/aged care; experience preferred but not essential.
• Ability to work independently and manage time with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• General housekeeping and making beds.
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors.
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry.
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping.
• Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities.
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

• Care about assisting our aged community members to live independently at home for longer.
• Don’t sweat the small stuff. Sometimes your client will be having a bad day or traffic delays you, but you know not to take this personally and can shake it off before your next client.
• Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask your manager for help.

In Addition, You Will Need

• A valid Australian Driver's Licence & your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
• An interest in community care or aged care (experience preferred but not essential).
