Job summary

Cook Shire Council is seeking 2 proactive ICT Operations and Support Officers to join the ICT team in Cooktown. This hands-on role supports staff, maintains systems, and keeps technology running smoothly across the shire.

You will provide Level 1–3 ICT support, troubleshoot issues across hardware, software, networks and user accounts, and assist with asset management and continuous improvement of processes. This role emphasises customer service and collaboration within a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• Qualification or substantial ICT support experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networks and IT security.
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and ICT helpdesk systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 1–3 ICT support to staff and stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot ICT issues across hardware, software, networks and user accounts.
• Install, configure and support ICT hardware, software and mobile devices.
• Support and maintain CCTV, radio and satellite infrastructure and connectivity systems.
• Manage ICT assets and standard procedures to improve service delivery.
• Contribute to ICT projects and staff inductions.
